Your Fitness Weak Link is… Lack of Flexibility

Why flexibility matters?

If you want to reduce injury risk and have a pain-free body that thrives in an active lifestyle, having sufficient flexibility is a must.

Lack of flexibility is one of the most common issues I see with guys over 40. It’s the classic example of the “if you don’t use, you lose it” principle of human movement.

For example, if you sit in a chair all day and never get into a position with your butt below your knees (a deep squat position), your brain and body will no longer allocate resources for that movement.

The problem comes when you go to play with your kids on the ground or play a sport that requires that squatting movement. Your body can’t get there using the proper joints and muscles and this is when you blow out a knee or throw out your lower back.

Being flexible and strong will make you more resilient to these stressors of life. And this is all possible for you regardless of how tight you are right now.

Here’s What To Do Next – Try This Routine

The key to having a flexible body is to make sure you move your joints in full ranges of motion every single day.

This can as be as simple as 5 minutes of day of something like this video.

If you neglect this aspect of fitness, as many men do, getting older will not be fun. Back pain, junky knees, stiff shoulders, hunched forward posture will all be your future reality if you don’t do anything.

Here’s how to avoid that future reality…

Special Offer – Free Body Assessment

While doing that above routine daily will 100% help increase your flexibility, the most effective path to getting YOU more flexible is to figure out what specific joints are the problem areas.

Is your forward posture causing your low back pain?

Are your hamstrings always tight?

Do you have knee pain with certain movements?

The body works as a connected whole and if you’re lacking range of motion in one area, the body will compensate and over time this can lead to all sorts of problems.

The ultimate goal is to understand your specific issues and then work to correct those issues with specific exercises.
