5-Day Mini Course: Day 1
Day 1
Welcome
Objectives:
- Welcome! Here’s my framework that will help you to feel, look, and move better
- Create a goal and / or vision for yourself
- Get clear on why
Welcome to Day 1 of the 5-Day Challenge. I’m stoked that you are here. My goal is really simple: I want to cut through all the bullshit and give you a simple system you can use to feel, look, and move better.
No fad diets, crazy workouts, or expensive supplements. I’ll simply lay out my framework that has produced awesome results for guys I’ve worked with over the last decade.
Over the next 5 days, I will lay out my success formula so you know exactly what you need to do. But here’s the catch: I need you to show up and do the work, about 10 minutes a day for 5 days.
I promise that if you put in these 10 minutes a day, you will have the foundation and knowledge to get in the best shape of your life, no bullshit!
You will not only know exactly what you need to focus on, but you’ll be spending the time putting in the reps.
Passive learning, like reading another article or watching a youtube video isn’t going to cut it…You need to be in action by doing the right things and building consistency day in and day out.
And that’s exactly what this challenge will provide. A simple actionable plan you can start doing right away. Here’s how it will work.
You’ll receive an email from me every day for the next 5 days. Please make sure you add nick@nickholtfit.com to your contacts or add it to your safe email list so you get your daily videos.
Click into the video to watch that day’s video. All videos are around 5 – 7 minutes.
After watching the video, click the worksheet and spend 5 minutes answering a few of the questions. The worksheet is designed to help solidify the lesson and get you into action. (If you’re reading the Day 1 worksheet right, congrats, you’re almost done.)
Getting clear on
What / Why Vision
No matter what your goals are, it’s important to know WHY you’re working towards them. So take a moment and think about WHY you’re doing this. Of course, there’s the obvious stuff, like you might want to lose some weight, or get in shape, or get bigger and stronger and more muscular. But you can also think about some bigger goals, and some bigger whys.
For instance, if you really clarify your ultimate goal with exercise, it’s probably something like, “to be a healthy, pain-free and physically capable person for the rest of my life.” So, in a sense, everything should work towards that goal.
Staying focused on the bigger picture, and the bigger goal, is important. Because it’s easy to get distracted by what happens on a given day, or with a single workout. So take a moment and think about WHY you might want to exercise and eat better.
Having a clear sense of the long-term purpose of your program will help you stay motivated. This is especially important because practicing new skills won’t always feel easy.
5-Minute Homework Day 1
Set a timer and take the next 5 minutes to answer the following questions. Write down whatever comes up for you. There are no right or wrong answers. Don’t overthink this, simply spend 5 minutes and answer to the best of your ability.
1. What do you want to achieve in the next 2 months with your health and fitness?
Some examples to get the wheels going.. I want to lose 20lbs in the next 2 months so that I feel less self conscious with my shirt off. I want to reduce my disease risk so I can be there for my daughter’s wedding.
2. Why is that important to you? (the deeper you can go here, the better)
Some examples..So that I have more confidence. So that I am a role model for my kids. So that I can become the best version of myself..
3. Let’s fast forward 2 months. You’ve achieved your short-term goal. How do you feel? What are you doing now that you weren’t doing 2 months ago? Be specific, what does your life actually look like?
